Dr. Linda Nathan to visit LACHSA!

LACHSA is pleased to welcome award-winning educator Linda Nathan on February 10th. Dr. Nathan will be on the West coast wing of her book tour sharing stories and success from her highly-acclaimed book, the Hardest Questions Aren't on the Test! Please join us at 1:15 p.m. at Cal State LA in Fine Arts 244!
Charlotte Williams nominated for Presidential Scholar in the Arts!

Theatre senior Charlotte Williams, a YoungArts finalist, has been nominated by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars to become a Presidential Scholar of the Arts. Charlotte is one of 50 nationwide--out of more than 8,000 applicants--to receive this tremendous honor. This is indeed big news for Charlotte and for LACHSA!

Academic Dean leads professional development for Confucius Institute

Cara Livermore, academic dean leads faculty and aspiring teachers in a session on curriculum design and project-based learning for the Confucius Institute--a non-profit public institute which aims at promoting Chinese language and culture. LACHSA has been able to offer Mandarin through our partnership with the Confucius Institute at UCLA.
Auditions for 2010-2011 top 700!

With an increase of almost 50% over last year, LACHSA will hold more than 700 auditions for next school year.
